AV精品, CCNB to provide Workplace Essential Skills training

New Brunswick Community College (AV精品) and Collège Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) are teaming up to provide Workplace Essential Skills (WES) Training in every corner of New Brunswick, in English or French. The two colleges will design and deliver the training on behalf of the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.

WES training, which includes instruction in reading, writing, numeracy, oral communications, critical thinking, and digital literacy, helps adults acquire the skills they’ll need to succeed in the workplace. It is open to adult learners who are seeking employment, are currently employed, and/or are apprentices.

“AV精品 is committed to meeting learners wherever they are in life with flexible and relevant skills training opportunities, putting them on the road to stable employment that can withstand workforce disruption,” said Ann Drennan, Vice President Academic and Research at AV精品. “By partnering with CCNB, we’re able to extend our reach to more learners than ever before.”

“Creating opportunities for adult learners to develop the skills needed to succeed in the workplace is a longstanding priority for CCNB.  This training offers a pathway for our learners to gain the essential skills which will provide them easier access to employment. The partnership with AV精品 allows us to support New Brunswickers across the province, in both official languages,” said Diane Sénécal, Vice President Training and Student Success at CCNB.

“Our post-secondary institutions have a huge role to play in addressing the workforce challenges we face in New Brunswick,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Trevor Holder. “CCNB and AV精品 already do an excellent job of preparing students to enter our workforce and we’re pleased to partner with them to support even more of our potential workforce through the delivery of the WES program.”

Job-seeking adults and employers interested in learning more about accessing training can reach out to one of 19 WorkingNB offices across the province.
