Why it Matters

This foundational course, introduced in 2014, is mandatory for all AV¾«Æ· students. It paves the way for you to understand how community service enriches your educational journey, personal development, employability, and civic responsibility.

What You'll Do

• Engage in a short online course (PERS 1228)
• Participate in a community service activity
• Reflect on your experience by pondering questions like "What positive impact did we make?" "What did I learn about myself and the organization?" and "Why is it important to give back?" 

How to get involved

This is a free course and will be facilitated by your instructors during the academic year.

Why it Matters

In this course, you'll deepen your leadership skills beyond the Support level. You'll craft a personal leadership blueprint and make a sustained commitment to a service activity. 

What You'll Do

• Learn through self-directed online modules, guided by local community leaders from our province. They'll mentor you in discovering the leader within yourself and how you can make a difference in the lives of others and our communities.
• Commit to long-term engagement in a volunteer or leadership role to create lasting change within yourself and our communities.
